This tour is dedicated to the the grandeur of the Bourbon Court life and its symbol: the Royal Palace of Caserta, the biggest in the world. The guide will show you the most representative rooms of the Royal Residence. During the second part of the tour you’ll get to Cassino for the visit of the old Abbey.

Caserta Royal Palace
Charles III of Bourbon planned the construction of a majestic Palace in the plain of Caserta for his Royal family and its Court that was similar but more sumptuous than the Royal Palaces of Versailles and Madrid. This project started in 1752 by a very famous architect of that time, Luigi Vanvitelli, and it represents the triumph of the Italian Baroque.
The immense residence contains 1200 rooms, 34 scales, 1742 windows, besides four courtyards and thousands of rooms, nails head museums and theatres.
Royal Palace’s Park
Around the Royal Palace there’s the outstanding park where you can admire waterfalls and fountains like the Fountain of Diana and Atteone, the Fountain of Venere, the Fountain of the Dolphins, and the English Garden, the ideal place for a romantic walk. Today, the Royal Palace and the gardens still maintain their eighteenth-century layout intact, thanks to the continued restorations and maintenance of the architecture, the decor and the flora of the gardens.
Inside the Palace
Inside the Palace the monumental stairway gets to the Palatine Chapel inspired by the Chapel of Versailles. On that floor there are the Royal Apartments preceded by a series of flashing Rooms with very precious furnishings. The most important room is the Throne Room richly decorated. On the west side of the Palace, you’ll get to the the Court Theatre where performances and representations were regurarly represented in it.
After the visit of the Royal Palace the driver will lead you to Montecassino for the visit of the Abbey destroyed by the bombing of the WWII and re-built many times. While there you can admire frescos, amazing mosaics and a bronze door of dating back to the XI century.
