Pompeii and the Archaeological Museum
The visit of the Ancient town of Pompeii is combined with the visit of the Archaeological Museum of Naples, where part of the frescoes, mosaics and artifacts are displayed.
The tour starts in Pompeii with an introduction about the foundation and the history of the town.
You’ll get very soon to the first public area dedicated to the Theatres where the Ancient Pompeiians were used to attend the shows.
According to the openings the guide will show you private Houses that can be considered an exquisite example of Roman Architecture.
The Baths of Pompeii: a gathering place where people met for washing themselves but also for socializing.
The Forum of Pompeii is the main square surrounded by civil and religious like the Capitolium, the Temple of Apollo and the Basilica.
On the way you’ll see also the famous Plaster casts, the bodies of the victims of Pompeii that give you a vivid picture of their last moments.
Archaelogical Museum of Naples
After Pompeii you’ll head with your guide to the train station to catch the train to Naples and then the subway to reach the Archaeological Museum of Naples.
In the Museum you’ll find many collections like that of the Farnese family with marble statues worldwide famous like the Farnese Hercules or the Farnese Bull.
The visit continues in the section dedicated to the mosaics from Pompeii and the Secret Cabinet with erotic paintings, sculpture.
Thefirst floor is dedicated to the Villa of Papyri of Herculaneum. Bronze and marble statues that once decorated this fabulous Villa are still in perfect conditions.
To the upper floor the visitor will see eventually all the items and artifacts found in Pompeii along with its wonderful frescoes. Some of them come from the Ancient town of Stabiae.
At the end of the tour the guide will lead you back to the starting point or another agreed location.
