The Capri Island Walking Tour is a perfect solution to get to know the best of the blue island! Your guide will show you the amenities and the multitudes of splendid areas of the most well-loved destination of artists, intellectuals, writers, and tourists from all over the world.
This is a full-day tour that allows you to enjoy its unique atmosphere, the food, the sea breeze, and the relaxing lifestyle of a very charming Mediterranean island.
Meet the guide at the harbour of Naples or Sorrento. After the crossing you’ll land to Marina Grande, the main harbour where Capri Island walking tour starts. It’s the island’s third biggest town and due to its facilities it is much more frequented by tourists.
From Marina Grande a taxi will head to Anacapri centre, located in the western part of the island. You will discover the beauties of this pretty village getting to the Belvedere and the Phoenician staircase. A must to see are the Villa St. Michael owned by the Swedish medical doctor Axel Munthe and the chairlift to Mount Solaro for a 360 degree view of the island on a clear day.
Re-board the cab for a brief drive to Capri, the main centre, more charming and elegant. You’ll enjoy another gorgeous view from the world-renowned Piazzetta (tiny square) that is the beating heart of the town.
It’s also one of the most famous places of the island: you can meet tourists and artists, common people and great names, all attracted by the simple beauty of this area.
From the Piazzetta we’ll reach together the Augustus Gardens, located on a terrace above the sea and set in luxuriant vegetation. From the Gardens you’ll enjoy a breathtaking view of Faraglioni rocks and Krupp road.
The last transfer to the harbour can be taken by Funicular (cable car) which is the shortest route to the harbour: in five minutes it covers a distance of 650 m. crossing the lush vegetation.
